Popular VPN provider Hide.me has partnered with cloud storage provider Internxt to offer 2 TB of free storage space to its customers.
Internxt is a blockchain-based decentralized cloud storage service that prides itself on its privacy-focused features.
Unlike popular cloud storage services such as Google Drive, Dropbox, and Microsoft OneDrive, Internxt is a null-knowledge file storage service that supports end-to-end encryption.
Exclusive offer from TechRadar
FREE Unlimited BackT cloud storage with all ExpressVPN purchases
ExpressVPN, TechRadar’s No. 1 VPN provider, offers free, cloud-based storage courtesy of Backblaze for an entire year with its annual subscription. Secure and business online backup for everyone, no attachments. See offer
This means it encrypts all files before transporting them to their servers, where they are split into smaller pieces to make sure they cannot be read by any unwanted recipients, including the service provider itself.
Free for one year
Internxt offers 10 GB of free storage space to all its users and has 20 GB, 200 GB and 2 TB payment plans.
As part of the new partnership, Internxt will provide all Hide.me users with a € 100 coupon, which can be exchanged for Internxt’s 2 TB plan.
The 2 TB plan costs € 9.99 per month or € 9.49 per month if paid for six months or € 8.99 per month if paid for one year. Although the plan costs just over € 100 when paid for a full year, the ad promises to cover the cost of the plan for a year for all Hide.me customers.
The version does not mention whether the coupon can be redeemed for one of the smaller plans. Also, while Internxt says the offer is applicable to all Hide.me users, we can safely assume that it does not extend to free VPN service users.
