The budget proposed by U.S. President Joe Biden includes $ 750 million for government agencies affected by the SolarWinds hacker to pay for cybersecurity enhancements to prevent another attack.
The money is added to a $ 500 million fund for federal cybersecurity as the U.S. government recovers from the cyber attack that affected nine agencies, including the State Department of Finance.
The United States and Britain have blamed the attack on Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), the successor to the KGB’s foreign espionage operations.
The hacking of information technology company SolarWinds, identified in December, gave access to thousands of companies and government offices that used their products.
