Japanese electronics company Casio has launched a new smartwatch in its G-Shock range that runs on Google Wear OS platform, making it the first robust G-Shock model to run on Google’s Android-based laptop operating system.
Called the Casio G-Shock GSW-H1000, the device is part of Casio’s rugged G-Squad Pro line and also the first G-Shock watch with a color screen.
It is priced at $ 700 Casio application. It offers support for a variety of sports, including training activities such as running, indoor workouts and cycling.
The device contains an optical sensor to measure heart rate, as well as a compass, altitude / air pressure sensor, accelerometer, gyrometer, GPS functionality and more. It has resistance to shocks and 200 meters of water.
The device houses a dual-layer screen that is said to combine a monochrome LCD, always on for time display, with a color LCD for high-definition display of maps, sensor data, and more.
