Dave Temkin, who built and scaled the Content Delivery Network (CDN) for Netflix, has joined cybersecurity firm Imperva, Inc.
In his new role, Temkin will work on the reliability, scalability and uptime of Imperva’s global network offering edge security solutions (CDN, DDoS), application (WAF, Advanced Bot Protection, API) Security) and data (Cloud Data Security).
Temkin is a co-founder and current board member of Community IX and the New York Network Operators Group (NYNOG). He has held leadership positions with Citigroup, Telx (now Digital Realty), Bridgewater Associates and Right Media, where he was responsible for leading the integration of its infrastructure into Yahoo! network after acquisition. He also acts as an advisor to the Board of Directors of Catchpoint and as an advisor to DRIVENETS.

At Netflix, Temkin was vice president of network systems infrastructure, where he assembled and led the team that built one of the world’s largest CDNs and the world’s technical study infrastructure, including networks, systems, and storage.
His responsibilities also included complementary business operations, such as sourcing and logistics, that enabled Netflix to become the most scalable, high-performance, and reliable streaming content provider in the world. To do this, it adopted a hybrid approach to proprietary infrastructure, public and private cloud computing. Temkin also helped drive Netflix’s cloud migration by moving legacy data center applications to cloud infrastructures.
