In a survey of 508 global CEOs and CISOs, 90% of respondents said they adopted or considered Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) and 74% had reallocated funds to cybersecurity, said Forcepoint, a security company in the cloud. General executives and CISOs are duplicating convergent security approaches, Forcepoint found.

Although analysts previously estimated that 60% of companies would eventually adopt SASE by 2025, the WSJ Intelligence report found that the pandemic had accelerated many of its plans. Business leaders who once saw cybersecurity as part of traditional infrastructure are now rapidly investing in integrated cloud-based approaches, resulting in effects on innovation, distributed labor security, and competitive advantage.
Cyberattacks of all kinds (supply chain (60%), ransomware (54%), custom malware (57%), fishing (56%)) are on the rise. In this context of increased threats, business and security leaders must also support distributed employees working in an increasingly digitalized, SaaS-based world. Cloud apps are everywhere and so are our workers everywhere. As a result, cybersecurity decision-makers need (58%) a “framework of trust” to ensure and accommodate this new reality.
