OnePlus 9 Pro, the most powerful OnePlus handset from the company’s lineup, was launched in the US at a starting price of $969. At this price, the company had launched the base model of the OnePlus 9 Pro that features 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.
However, the model was never made available to potential buyers as it was always coming soon. Therefore, they only had the option to go for the more expensive $1,069 version of the phone that packs 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
Now, it appears that this is the only option for you if you want to get your hands on the OnePlus 9 Pro as the company has dropped the plans of bringing the previously announced base model citing “unforeseen supply constraints.”
In a statement to Android Police, the company has said, “The OnePlus 9 Pro 8×128 GB variant was originally set to be sold in North America for $969. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen supply constraints specific to North American devices, we recently concluded it is no longer possible to bring this configuration to the United States and Canada. In North America we are prioritising the 12×256 GB version to ensure our users have access to the highest spec device.”
